I saw an interview of Jimi Hendirx where he said that all of his songs were essentially about depression (with the exception of "Foxy Lady"). I wanted to do an illustration that conveyed Hendrix's inner turmoil. His closest friend's said that he had a pretty hard time dealing with reality, but then again many geniuses have that problem.
